We had already attended two wedding receptions during the day and I was feeling a bit exhausted.
It did cross my mind to give a pass to tonight 's wedding reception and spend time watching Barclays Premier League football on TV but my wife reminded me of my promise to the bride that I would make time to attend her wedding. After all, it is not often we get invited by the bride who booked our Meru Hills Homestay to attend her wedding reception.
Really appreciate the gesture . After Maghrib prayer, off we went to the Ipoh Town Hall. It was drizzling throughout the 15 minutes trip. Reached the hall just about 8.00 p.m. We were very early so locating a parking space next to the hall was easy. We make our way through the drizzle carrying the wedding gift which I managed to wrap up just before prayers.
After exchanging greetings with some usherettes, I signed in the best wishes card and headed towards the entrance to meet the host. On entering the hall, we trained our eyes on familiar faces to pick our seats as the occasion was a free seating event. Having picked our seats among some friends, we gathered our meals and started to eat slowly while waiting for the bride and bridegroom to enter the hall.
At about 9.00 p.m, the bride and the bridegroom graced in amidst the sound of kompang. Ain Othman, the bride looked stunning beside Asdi, the bridegroom.
It was a very joyous occasion for the couple who had known each other, we were told, since 1999.
TO AIN AND ASDI,
SELAMAT PENGANTIN BARU. May your marriage be blessed with barakah and happiness...& happy honeymooning in Singapore.
To Ain and Asdi too, thank you so much for choosing Meru Hills to house your close relatives and loved ones.
