21. YES, WE DO LISTEN...'COS WE CARE

Running homestays or guest homes and providing services to the standards satisfactory to our guests can sometimes be very challenging.

One of the source we rely on to constantly upgrade our facilities to meet guests requirements is through written and oral feedbacks and suggestions from guests. We are very open to suggestions so long as the implementation of those suggestions do not add too much cost that necessitates the upward revision of rental rates.

Major complaint from guests recently has been the heat. Indeed the weather is really hot now. Today it is 38 degree C. There were days when the temperature shot to 42 degree C. Upon receiving the complaints, we quickly brought in water coolers for Meru Hills and installed additional air conditioner at Tambun.

Guests too have difficulties finding good places to source good breakfast for the following morning especially when they check in late. We rectify the issue by providing complimentary free breakfast for the first morning.

Low water pressure on the top floor has also been a constant complaint from guests staying at the Syabas Tambun facility. We are currently looking for possible solution to remedy the issue by installing a water pump.

To ensure that our guests receive the best possible services at those economical rates which we charge, we encourage guests to continue providing comments while we strive to provide you more benefits...

Thank you and welcome to Syabas Homes...

19. COME ONE COME ALL...COME AND JOIN THE IPOH INTERNATIONAL WAITERS RACE...

Ipoh has always been associated with sumptuous food and delicacies. There is the famed Ipoh Taugeh, Ipoh Salt Chicken , Ipoh Biscuits, Ipoh Char Kow Teow and Ipoh Hor Fun. There is the much-talked about Ipoh Hainan Chicken Rice and South Indian famous dishes.

Little wonder famous movie stars from Hong Kong and Hollywood frequented Ipoh just to taste the Ipoh delicacies. It is not unusual to bump into Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh and her family at the Pakeeza Restaurant, the famous Indian/Pakistani restaurant serving beautiful and tasty Indian cookings.

Despite all the elegant cooments about the things relating to food, Ipoh has never before been home to any international food event.

Come 29th June 2013 all this will changed. On that very day, Ipoh and Perak, for the time ever, will play host to Ipoh International Waiters' Race jointly organised by Ipoh City Council, Perak Tourist Association, Malaysian Association of Hotels( Perak Chapter) and International Waiters' Race Agency at the D.R. Seenivasagam Park.

There are lots of activities planned during the event. Dato' Lat, the famous cartoonist hailed from Perak, has sketched a nice caricature to capture the potential excitement of the coming event.

Demonstrations of ice-carving, flower-arranging, food-carving and a barista competition in coffee decoration will be held, along with a mini-treasure hunt, children’s race, parade of Perak school bands, and cheerleader demonstration for younger participants.

Over one hundred waiters and waitresses from Perak’s favourite eateries will be running the 1 ½ kilometer course through the park in three different races.

Visiting participants will be included from Ipoh’s sister city in Japan, Fukuoka, and Ipoh’s “friendship cities” Medan, Pusan, Hangzhou and Guangzhou.

Organizers hope to make this an annual event, celebrating Ipoh’s waiters, waitresses and culinary heritage for locals and tourists alike.

Participants and visitors are most welcome to stay at Syabas Homes facilities. In conjunction with the event, we are offering a 10% discount off the official rates for all our facilities in Ipoh.

18. THEY JUST KEPT COMING...WE'RE SO GRATEFUL

The last two weeks were very hectic. The guests just kept coming and coming. The bookings were filled to the brim. Many late requests for accommodation at Syabas Homes especially the Tambun facility had to be politely turn down due to earlier bookings. We are thankful for the tremendous support.

Many guests came to Ipoh bringing their families for holidays taking advantage of the school semester break. Guests came from Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu. We even had guests coming as far away as from Johor Bahru.

Besides coming for holidays in Ipoh, some guests booked the accommodations to attend seminars, courses, symposium, visiting relatives and attending weddings.

We also received many positive comments and views on further improvements to our facilities. We are very grateful to our guests for taking time to pen down their observations which we will definitely deliberate further.

Due the tremendous support, two of our facilities listing on the premier short rental portal @ www. ibilik.my had shoot up to the first page. In fact Syabas Homes @The Lost World of Tambun has now occupies the 1st place among 143 homestays listed in Ipoh, Syabas Homes@ Silibin occupies the 7th place and Syabas Homes@ Meru Hills filling up the 15th slot.

In fact our Syabas Homes@ The Lost World of Tambun facility has shot up to be no. 1 among 253 homestays in Perak while Silibin occupies the 11th place and Meru Hills is on the 24th spot.

Quite an achievement considering we listed the Tambun facility on 13 February 2013, just about 4 months ago.

Well, maybe it is time to seriously plan for another facility near The Lost world of Tambun, Ipoh...

God Willing...A BIGGER AND BETTER SYABAS HOMES@ THE LOST WORLD OF
TAMBUN IS ON THE WAY.

Thank you All...

14. THE MAKINGS OF SYABASHOMES @LOST WORLD OF TAMBUN

The process of converting a two storey terrace house acquired late December last year into a decent and comfortable home worthy of carrying the label of Syabas homestay started exactly a week ago. A crew of 1Malaysia team was put to complete the task.

Situated at Taman Perpaduan Koperasi near Tambun Secondary School and a stone's throw from the Lost World of Tambun, Lost World Hot Spring and the Giant supermarket, this homestay will be able to house our many bookings from guests with specific intention of visiting the Lost World facilities and the many attractions in Tambun and nearby.

Though the conversion or makeover or facelift is still in process, bookings for February have begun to seep through...

Today is another busy day for the crew. Uncle Lee See Cheng, the painter is about to complete painting the interiors. after which he will embarked on painting the external which will take about three to four days depending on the weather.

.

While Ravi, the plumber cleans up the water tank before embarking on checking the sanitary fittings, Uncle Gopal, the electrician fixes the new lamps

Fixtures and furnitures have been ordered and due for delivery soon. We are still waiting for the curtainman and air-conditioning mechanic to drop by and commence work.

We reckoned in a week's time, all the exterior and interior painting work including electrical plus plumbing works should be completed. The premise should be ready to receive all the fixtures and furniture and other necessary fittings..

Syabas homes@Lost World of Tambun, a three bedrooms and three bathrooms double storey terrace house, is being prepared for our middle range guests reasonably priced at @ Rm 228 only per night for a comfortable occupancy of ten guests.

This place should be very ideal and convenient for visitors and tourists intending visits to Lost World Of Tambun, Lost World hot Spring, Teachers Traning Institute, Medical and Science College Ulu Kinta, Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Tambun Caves, the Tambun pomelo farms, the famous rolling hills of Tambun  and many other surrounding attractions.

To all our guests, we say WELCOME to Tambun, the hot spring and pomelo town and IPOH the tin city...

SYABAS HOMES...the colourful home...A home, away from homes...

13. TAMBUN...HERE WE COME

Tambun used to be a sleepy hollow town on the outskirt of Ipoh city. People passed by this little enclave to get to the famed Tanjung Rambutan Hospital or to search for the juicy and succulent Tambun pomeloes.

Streams of visitors started to flock the area ever since Sunway Group, the developer of Sunway Pyramid, took the initiative a few years back to transform the hot springs of Tambun into the now famed Lost World of Tambun and The Banjaran.

The Lost World of Tambun which was opened to the public in November 2004 is now an extremely popular destination among local tourists and The Banjaran is now a  worldly destination. The surge in tourists arrivals has increased the need for short rental accommodations. There are high end accommodations as provided by The Banjaran itself and Sunway Lost World Hotel. Due to requirements of the masses for medium cost accommodation facilities, homestays started to mushroom around Tambun and surrounding areas.

Of late, Syabas Homes Meru Hills, Chepor Indah and Silibin have been receiving bookings from guests intending to visit Lost World of Tambun which we gladly entertained. The journey from our facilities to Lost World  only takes 15-20 minutes.

Bookings from intending visitors to Lost World have surged since November 2012 to the point that we had to declined many requests with regret.

The management of Syabas Homes in acknowledging our growing customers base has decided to extend our accommodation services in Tambun itself closer to The Lost World destination.

Our new facility is now being prepared to receive our first guest, God willing, in February 2013.

So Tambun with all your attractions...here we come...adding another colour to your already colourful and charming environment.

12. A NICE WELCOME TO THE NEW YEAR...

The ideal way to promote our facilities is through the internet. Syabas Homes is quite fortunate to secure the services of www.Mudah.my, www.CariHomestay.net and www.ibilik.my to advertise our products throughout 2012 and continuing in 2013.

Updating of our latest facilities have been done on constant basis for the benefit of our guests and potential guests.

The latest listing on the ibilik yesterday caught us by surprise. Syabashomes Meru Hills has shot up to be no.1 out of 204 short term rentals in Perak and no. 3 out of 3172 short term rentals in Malaysia. Syabas Homes Silibin too has moved up the ladder. As of today we are still there...

While we are excited at these rankings, we are fully aware that Syabas Homes Chepor Indah needs some repackaging to improve its ranking...

Nonetheless, to all our guests and potential guests, do drop by our place whenever you need a place to stay in Ipoh. Rest assured, we promise a quality service to make your stay...a very pleasant one.

Thank you all

11. SETAHUN BERLALU...
